A true coming of age for three sisters, but also part “Erin Brockovich” in determination and downright strife. I appreciate each voice for their own and the author allows them to be just that. A full circle ending left me with a grin on my face and hope in my heart. For life is not won without a few battles and those we love.

I loved this book.  I listened to the audiobook version and the multiple narrators for the different point of views was fantastic.  The story itself was heartbreaking but inspiring. I picked this book because it would fill a reading prompt challenge and I am so glad I did.  I highly recommend.
emotional sad

One liner:  Three teenage girls battle industrial pollution in a depressed community.

I read this book for a book club and it definitely wasn’t one I would have picked up on my own. It was a beautifully written book told from the perspective of triplets born in a town plagued by industrial waste. I loved the contrast of the three girls’ viewpoints. The book had the feel of Radium Girls (no one will listen to the people suffering). While it wasn’t a fictionalized account of a specific incident like that book, I got the feeling it could have been so many different incidents which was almost more sad.

I loved the writing style and the characters in this book and am so thankful that it was picked for our book club.

I had no idea what to expect from this story but it was so well written, well researched and thought provoking. ⁣

Frankel discusses water pollution and bioterrorism leading to the variations of developmental deficits in children born during this time. ⁣

This story is told in 3 POVs by 3 triplet sisters who were each effected differently by this water pollution. There is also a sweet highschool romance. A mother who does everything to fight for her children to be treated equally and to absorb as much knowledge as possible. ⁣

The family dynamics, environmental problems, the town coming together and falling apart, sisterhood, and friendships truly make this a great story. ⁣

Thank you for an ARC for my honest review. The narration of this was outstanding as well!⁣

Easy to read, character that are quirky and mostly (just the right amount) lovable, and an enemy to root against. Nearly perfect! Laurie Frankel does not disappoint once again.
