Oh to have finally finished this wonderful little book. The story of Bourne and its three miraculous sisters is beyond hopeful, beyond sweet. More and more people should find solace and inspiration in Frankel’s pages. Friends, please pick up this little treasure.

In this chapter of my life, the story of Bourne and it’s environmental degradation was a hard read. East River Park, my local place of respite, has been destroyed in a selfish land grab by the city of New York. Despite our community’s best efforts to fight against the ecocide, greed and profit won. These stories, stories like ERP and like Bourne, happen everywhere every day. Frankel’s words are the comfort needed to continue the fight for green space and environmental justice amidst capitalist greed. Funny how much solace and hope you can get from a lil work of fiction. Guess that’s why we love reading I suppose…

This book was wonderful and funny. How can a book about a big corporation polluting the drinking water, leading to multiple illnesses, be funny. Well, here are a couple examples of how our sixteen year old heroines managed just that:

On television, sex makes people happy, but you are still annoyed and annoying.

And I tried to remind myself that if I killed them both I would never be able to use the toilet again when my mother was not home.

I loved Mab (One), Monday (Two) and Mirabel (Three). They are three of the best characters I have read in a long time. I especially loved Monday. This shouldn't have surprised me as Laurie Frankel's This Is How It Always Is was one of my favourite books of 2018.

I was captivated with each chapter of the daily goings-on with the Mitchell triplets and I delighted at every turn of the page, with laughter, and yes, with an aching heart for the pain of broken souls. The reward is finding characters who unknowingly piece each other back together.

A fresh look at intergenerational friendship, love, adventure, and yes, death. What I loved most? The characters and the journey they took each other on while saving themselves, their town and each other.

wow, just wow. Laurie Frankle is a master at building worlds in a way that draws you into the story and charecters. The three perspectives adds another layer because you see the story and it’s layers through different eyes every 5-9 pages. This book would definitely be high on my reccommend list. One thing is, it is slow paced so I would not read this if fresh out of a reading slump/in a reading slump!

4.5 stars for this beautiful book
I already loved the premise. The audio was amazing and I loved the jumping POV’s. The ending was what made it for me

"One Two Three" is a powerful book told through the alternating perspectives of triplets. The story shows the detrimental effects that irresponsible factory run off can have on a small town. I was angry, hopeful for change, enraged, and deeply saddened by the carelessness of those who have money and how quickly they turned their back on the ones whose lives they destroyed. Two of the triplets have disabilities of varying degrees, which I felt like Laurie Frankel approached and handled well. This diversity in the narrator added so much to the story and made the narrative even more impactful.
