This was very interesting.

Each of the three triplets have their own distinct personalities, and while I think a book just about their everyday lives would be interesting, their personalities compounded with the mystery of what the heck is going on in this small town made this book a great read.

I did feel like there were some plot points that felt inauthentic, and sometimes a little too fictional. Also, in the third quarter of this book, I was beginning to feel a bit bored. HOWEVER, this is still a really great read and wildly different from other books I've read.

Highly enjoyed on audio. The three narrators were fantastic and I was completely enthralled with the story.

This is a story about a small town, the chemical company that poisoned them and three very tenacious 16-year old triplets.

I loved each of the girls and their unique voices. This book also provides an awareness on disability, which felt authentic to me as a reader.

Thank you to @librofm for the audio copy and @henryholtbooks for the print arc.

I absolutely adored Frankel’s last book, This Is How It Always Is. If you haven’t read that one yet, but it on your list to read right after you finish this new release of hers.

This book follows triplet sisters growing up in the town of Bourne after it a chemical company wrecked havoc on the water supply. The three girls tell the story in alternative chapters highlighting their unique perspectives and personalities.

While this story is one of environmental poisoning (total Erin Brockavich vibes), it is about so much more. It’s about family, community, love and fighting for those around you.

Frankel is a great storyteller. I especially recommend the audio version of this book as the different narrators really highlight the triplets’ personalities.

I was enjoying it at first but it really seems to drag on with not a whole lot happening. Could have easily been a 250 page book instead of a 400 page book without really missing anything. Interesting premise, interesting characters, well written, but paced very very poorly and so repetitive.

Probably more like 3.5 stars. The plot/premise of this book is unique, for sure. Each triplet is interesting and complex and smart in their own way. The story was believable and even ended pretty wrapped up. The book was kind of slow.

I don’t think this book was for me. I enjoyed some aspects of the book, the characters  and changing POV  but felt that it dragged a little at times. It did pick up around 80%.

I really wanted to like this one more because I really liked the premise. I think this would make a pretty good book club choice because many things to discuss.

WOW!! This book is phenomenal on so many levels. I absolutely loved the three sisters! Mirabel was my favorite because of her outlook and tenacity. Monday's love for yellow was so sweetly portrayed and Mab just is poise under pressure while supporting her mom Nora. I fell in love with the people in the town of Bourne and looked forward to reading this book to just dive back into their lives. So many moments while reading that had me stopping to think. This book was the perfect balance of thought provoking moments, but also with humor sprinkled throughout. I highly recommend this book when it releases in June. Thank you to Goodreads and Henry Holt and Company for the Giveaway win. I read and listened to this book from Netgalley and McMillian Audio. I absolutely think the 3 narrators were perfect, their voices and emotion added even more to this book. This will be one of my top books of 2021!

Things I liked:
-the triplets and their distinct personalities
-their loyalty to each other
-the theme of hopefulness and moving forward
-the nuances issues of environmentalism/industry/jobs

Things I didn’t like:
-the side characters were soooo one dimensional (especially River)
-it dragged on so long only to end so abruptly
emotional inspiring fast-paced

Strong character development: Yes
Loveable characters: Yes

Laurie Frankel blew me away with This Is How It Always Is so I was extremely excited to read One Two Three. Well, let me say she has produced another fabulous book that will stick with me for a long time.

Mab, Monday and Mirabel were some of my favorite characters of all time and I loved that the narrative kept shifting perspectives between the three of them. I also really loved the cast of side characters in Nora, Omar, Frank, Pastor Jeff, Petra and Pooh. Even River, Nathan and Apple Templeton were incredibly interesting to me. I loved that Laurie was able to give such amazing character development without sacrificing anything from the plot. I was riveted the whole way through. I highly recommend this incredibly interesting and intricate story!
