The book of a small town victimized by a chemical plant is told from the alternating points of view of triplet sisters born after the town is scrambling with the after-effects of the plant leaks a chemical into the town’s water supply. The girls’ mother has made it her life’s work to hold the plant accountable and the triplets take up the cause in their junior year of high school. Each girl had a very distinctive personality that is related well by Frankel in her writing. I enjoyed the characters and the story was intriguing, although I found the ending to be a little over-the-top. The story stalled in points for me, however. Overall a good read however.
Laurie Frankel’s book “This is How it Always is” is permanently on my favorites list and I absolutely loved the emotional rollercoaster it took me on, so of course I was excited to read her new release. “One Two Three” is a compelling, heartwarming, quirky story and I love the characters and their family dynamic! Frankel has a beautiful way of writing that captures your heart and the characters always feel so real to me. This one just didn’t captivate me like “This is How it Always is” did and it was a bit long/drawn-out in some parts. However, this original, character-driven book is still an amazing and worthwhile read. Thank you so much to Goodreads and Henry Holt and Co for my gifted copy!
ONE TWO THREE by Laurie Frankel is an amazing novel! I was so eager to read this book since I loved her other book This Is How It Always Is. That book made me cry and I was really hoping this book would make me cry too. I just love books that make me cry and I loved this book!

This novel is about teenage triplet sisters, Mab, Monday and Mirabel who live in a town dealing with the aftermath of a chemical plant polluting their drinking water. It was great to read some diverse characters with neurodiversity and physical challenges. I really liked how the point of view would switch between the three sisters and their voices were distinct yet similar. It mirrored how as people in their bodies and as triplets they are different yet the same.
.
This book is an extremely emotional read. It deals with some heartfelt themes such as family loyalty, coming of age, justice and of course it made me cry. I just loved this book!

Thank you to Henry Holt Books for my advance reader’s edition!

Amazing story, so enthralled with these triplets who are inspiring in their own ways. They are all talented, courageous, and intelligent. They are differently abled, and are sisters to the end. They come from a troubled town that was poisoned by a big corporation, who then left town.
This is the story of what happened after the poisoning. The diseases, birth defects, and unemployment. The story of a woman who has been trying to have her day in court because of the after affects.
This story has heart, sweet sixteen y.o. sisters, and finally a face to hate. There is light hearted sister silliness, frustration from greedy corporate people, and a town trying to figure out how to heal after 16 years.
Great book and great story!

I just had a feeling this would be a favorite and I was right! First book of 2022 was perfection.
Highschool aged triplets facing the terrible aftermath of chemical pollution that took place in their small town 17 years earlier.
This is a slow burn, character driven read, but when I say I loved the characters, I mean I LOVED the characters.
I listened to the audio version and the three sisters' narrators were so wonderful; it really added so much to the story for me.

Loved the concept of the book - the narrators, switching POV of sisters, and issue the town was facing is all very capitivating. The last chapter was where I wish more of the story was like; the sequencing and "big reveals" of the story were not as surprising as I wanted them to be
Highly recommend this book for readers of family dynamics and corporate responsibility. Would have gone 5 stars but the choice to keep piling on the misery seemed redundant after awhile. Loved the ending and was very satisfied!!!
