One Two Three

Audiobook version. I enjoyed the narration of the book, done by 3 narrators, and the uniqueness of each sister. The story is told in first person which made it feel more like a play to me (not my preferred style). Didn’t enjoy this as much as This Is How It Always Is, but that’s a tall order.

4.5 stars
Loved this book. The three sisters are hilarious and wonderful in their own way. I loved the way this story was told from each of their perspectives. I especially loved Mirabel/Three, my heart.

I loved This Is How It Always Is by this same author but I just could not get into this one

Loved the characters but the writing was terrible and the story was boring.

I am so thrilled at how great this book was! I had heard great things and was nervous it wouldn’t live up to my hype (it did). The premise was so relevant and important; I’m sure a lot of people (myself included) can relate it back to some specific environmental justice vs chemical company story from their state or that they’d heard about. The characters felt so real and my goodness, the audiobook was amazing. Highly recommend!
emotional reflective slow-paced

The writing in this one was so unique!! Three different POVs, and I loved them each for different reasons. Two was the hardest to get into until she became my favorite of the three. Insightful, interesting, slow to start, and well worth the read!! There were some parts that I thought were wordier than they needed to be, but I think the author had purpose in the slowness of it. Incredibly intrigued by this story and these characters!

I enjoyed everything about this book - the character development, the theme, the underlying mystery of who had known or done what, the coming of age heartbreak, and the sisterhood. All around solid writing and storytelling.
