One Two Three is such a delightful and also poignant read. I thoroughly enjoyed it - for so many reasons! It's the story of triplet in a town experiencing the ongoing impacts of a hazardous chemical site. Frankel excels in the character development of the sisters, as well as the rest of the characters in the town, bringing the experiences and struggles to life. While a work of fiction, the story of town that has lost its primary workplace and the devastating effects of environmental hazards is informative and illuminating.
I listened to the audio version of the book. The casting and narration was spectacular! Emma Galvin, Jesse Vilinsky, and Rebecca Soler breathed life into the sisters and the story.
Thank you to Macmillan Audio and NetGalley for the advanced reader's copy of the book.

I now have the book hangover to end all book hangovers. So very much packed into one book, that I’ll be processing for a very long time.
Bourne is a tiny town where everyone knows each other, and where nothing and nobody new comes to town. Because 17 years ago, a chemical plant came to bring amazing new jobs, opportunities, and growth but instead ended up bequeathing the town with poisoned water, numerous deaths and physical deformities, and a much larger than normal number of birth defects.
Mab, Monday, and Mirabel are a set of triplets who are called One, Two, and Three respectively throughout the book, and have not escaped Bourne’s sad legacy, Mab is “normal”, Monday is on the higher end of the autism spectrum, and Mirabel has normal use of only one hand, and is mostly non verbal, but has a genius level intellect. Their mother, Nora has never given up on a class action lawsuit against the chemical company.
When the company comes back 16 years later swearing that they want to do right by the town, many different stories get told through the triplets’ eyes.
I’m not even sure what I can say about this book, except that it was beautifully crafted, and took me in so many directions, that I had a hard time reading it. It is a book that made me ponder, that made me cry, that made me angry, and that made me wonder about the condition of the human spirit at times.
I’ll be recommending it while at the same time cursing it for giving me all the emotions for a long time to come. Just read it. I can’t imagine you could be sorry that you did!

Mab, Monday, and Mirabel are exquisite; a fantastic read, through and through.
Slow paced, but worth it, this read explores the dynamic of family, community, outside factors… all of it. A great read.

Mab, Monday and Mirabel were the best narrators. I loved this so so much. Reminded me of Gilmore Girls but a little darker and filled with lawyers and chemical plant poison. Highly Recommend reading if you're looking for something different.
Genuinely sad it's over though!!
