The second of Graham Norton’s books that I’ve read and thoroughly enjoyed! It was such a page turner, and took quite a few unexpected twists and turns. Written in ‘Then’ and ‘Now’ chapters, the reader meets 5 generations of a rather unconventional family in a strange and gripping story of mystery, abduction and tragedy. Excellent storytelling!

A Keeper is a novel that I feel could only really be set in Ireland. It is a story of tragedy and betrayal but filled with hope. The book centers around Elizabeth who has gone home to Ireland to clean out her mother's house after she passed. While there she discovers a box of letters from her unknown father.

The story alternates between mother and daughter as they go on their own journeys to find love and truth. This is one of those books that is nice to read because it is not trying to scare you or be an epic; it is just a nice, quiet novel that you will enjoy reading.

Got & listened to this on Audible. I was pleasantly surprised, I enjoyed the jumps back in time, and the twists that came up were amazing.

There were some twists I didnt see coming! I really enjoyed that Patricia and Elizabeth's life somewhat mirrored each other (slightly). However, the ending just fell into place a little too perfectly and there were some points where I was skimming to get to the next big event. But overall I did like it.

got this as an audio book. First time I've 'read' one of these and enjoyed it. An intriguing novel but the main premise was a bit weak.

Nice change of pace. He writes well, but I thought the plot lost a little momentum towards the second half. Overall solid read.

I couldn't put the book down. It took a while to get into but once it got started I had to finish it. I was pleasantly surprised by the humanity and depth of each character introduced. There were bits throughout that just had an ethereal sense showcasing beautiful modern Irish story telling.

This book started out really well - I enjoyed the first third of the book. Sadly the rest of the book didn't live up to the promising start. The perspective and time jump with each chapter from the daughter's and mother's stories was distracting, and I found I only really cared to read the daughter's story.
Thankfully a relatively fast read.
