The narrators male voices can be a bit (unintentional) comical in some sections

Another strong female lead and another almost enemies to lovers situation with the added bonus of close quarters. Very much enjoyed it.

I'm not a huge fan of "captor" romances so, while I enjoyed the characters and the love story was endearing, I found myself constantly pulled out with that. That said, I enjoyed the book as a whole, I just likely won't be rereading it.

It’s got all of the makings of the normal Bridgerton formula but add in some pirates. This felt a lot like Hyacinth and Gareth from "It's In His Kiss" in their quippy, verbal sparring between the headstrong, adventure girl and the tall, rogue of a man. The plot felt a bit rushed in the last quarter of the book but it was still decent as far as Julia Quinn goes.

Yesterday was awful, so last night I decided to pick this up to read something that would lift my spirits. This book succeeded! I don't know if it is because of the years between the original Bridgerton series and this, but this series has so far proved to be far more entertaining and with characters that feel more fleshed out than the paper-thin Bridgertons and their spouses (sorry, that's just the way I feel about them).
