Why are there like 5 titles running under the New Avengers title? This shit is really confusing. I put a volume on hold at the library, and some other weird-ass book shows up. And I read it because I'm a comics nerd and that's what I do, but I'm not happy about it. Not happy about it at all.

And can someone explain to me if Jonathan Hickman's web site is trolling me: http://www.pronea.com

And while we're asking questions can someone tell me what the appropriate amount is to tip a bartender for
A) A beer can
B) A shot
C) A Mixed drink?

And are people tipping maids at hotels? Is that a thing? Please only answer if you're NOT a maid at a hotel.

There are probably more important questions, but let's start with those.

The illuminati is the best group on the Avengers world and this book explores their interactions and objectives in depth. Loved it.

My head continues to hurt from the complex and cosmic problem and from Reed Richards' and the Beast's scientific sounding dialogue. Yet with the extraordinarily high stakes this book is keeping me nailed to page. This volume features an alternate world superhero team reminiscent of The Justice League.

This series continues to be only okay. Okay writing and okay art. But it just doesn't grab me. Not the set of characters, not the locations, not the premise. It's aiming for high impact and how brow but all it really gets is meh.

There's something unusual in this volume that the heroes know they are going to lose eventually and it's even put into sharp relief by showing a Justice League analogue fighting their own incursions with hope.

That, some unexpected camaradarie at the end of the universe and some clever storytelling allowed by channel flipping at the infinite make this one of my favourite volumes so far.

+different avengers from other universes... Plus seeing my X-Men in the spotlight brings me joy
++Love the repetitive start to the issues. Rather clever
+Sad death.
+/- can't decide if I like the Doctor Strange side story
+good building, fleshing out certain aspects, even if it's slowed down the pace
+nice change up of characters
+Namor and Black Panther talking
-also Namor and Black Panther just talking
+Like the setup toward the end
-... Even if I kinda saw it coming

Okay. Am I the only one totally disoriented by all this map-maker and black priest nonsense going through the Avengers universe? The new characters are confusing and the story lines are nearly impenetrable. The Namor/Black Panther story was somewhat interested, but then you've got the crazy DC characters showing up and once more, it just feels like craziness.

Maybe I'm just getting old.

i didn't decide reading [b:New Avengers, Volume 1: Everything Dies|17251112|New Avengers, Volume 1 Everything Dies|Jonathan Hickman|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1409500228s/17251112.jpg|23840560] and then skipping the second volume, moving immediately to the third one. the editorial that sells these editions in my country made my decision for me and i, being an innocent creature of the world, assumed it wouldn't really matter.

silly, silly me.

it does feel a bit unfair to rate this volume considering i didn't understand what was going on. but i'm feeling a bit grumpy for it so i'll do it anyway. i don't know what was happening here or why out of the sudden there were some battery babies, the human embodiment of the universe, bombs in australia, fighting rocks, and what felt like the first act from the latest godzilla film. so, yeah, grumpy.
