This collection is a couple of stories followed by a bunch of handbook content that catches readers up on anything they would need to know going into the Empyre event. The original stories were well drawn, and provided great information at a good pace. The handbook content is a lot of reading. Some of it repeats based on the focus of the article. And if you have not read much of Marvel over the past several years, this is going to spoil a lot of the stories for you. Honestly, I did not mind. It was useful information, and I think I would still enjoy reading any of the stories covered.

It feels like the event has big chunks taken out and edited out of it to shorten the run (I imagine due to Covid if that's the case).

I really did have high hopes for this considering there was going to be Hulkling and Wiccan in it.

And this was....fine. The ending fell a bit flat. It didn’t really deliver on the cosmic war premise. But there was good gay content for a big crossover - never thought I’d see that - and the rest was entertaining enough. But it felt more like a springboard for future stories than a good story in its own right. But then, it is a marvel crossover story...
