I did not find this to be as good as several of Kundera's works, but it is still compelling. Possibly more politically charged than many of his books, it deals with a person, several persons really, who are cutoff from their homeland and families. Well worth reading if you have already read other Kundera works, but not the book by him that should be read first.

I read The Farewell Waltz as a book-club read with a women's studies group, focusing on the theme of abortion and child-bearing and how they're used to control and police women's bodies.
I don't have enough to say about this book. If I have to sum up: It was unsettling. There were many vague questions that were left unanswered at the end, and I don't know what to think of it as a whole.

Един нормален човек нямаше в този роман, точно както е в истинския живот. Кундера представя съвсем обикновени проблеми, и ни дава шанс ние да вземем позиция и страна, опирайки се върху собствената ни гледна точка, и разбирания.
