I really enjoyed this book. The fact that it was by topic and not in chronological order though left me confused a few times.

This was a fun look into the Obama White House (we miss you so much, Barack!!) and what it’s like to be a staffer at that level. I had a lot in common with the author including our obsession with the queen, digestive issues and our desire to have beers with the Obama fam so it was interesting to put myself easily into her shoes. I liked that it was a quick audio book listen and it was narrated by the author.

It was cute and funny and there were definitely some moments that made me laugh out loud but overall I was looking for even funnier moments.

Appreciated her honest reflections about being such a powerful woman (sort of unintentionally) in the White House - I think this is a great read for young women. It will make you laugh and also make jobs that only people who don't seem real have feel a bit more attainable.

It's intentionally written in a funny / accessible way. Makes for an easy read but don't think it'll particularly stick with me in years to come.

Thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. It was so entertaining on a few levels. I love a good "behind the scenes" dish, but Alyssa's voice was so easy to read. She gave great life/work advice, and switched between everything easily. It was like going to dinner with a close friend that you haven't seen in awhile (one where you stay for hours).

I can't help but simultaneously be impressed by her accomplishments and hope to never work with/for someone like her.

I really wanted to like this book, but I could not get past the way it was written. It was spastic and stressful, at the same time being disjointed, and hard to follow. I never understood what she was trying to accomplish in the book and just found it a long set of stories with various name drops.

A fascinating and humorous view of one of the most powerful (hidden) women in politics, I appreciated Alyssa’s candid presentation of vignettes in political life. I appreciated her transparency (IBS struggles, t name one) throughout this book - highly recommended.

I enjoyed this book in that insight into the White House is always interesting but it carried a little too much "self help" in it. Towards the end the author says that was her goal so while she was successful in that, I most enjoyed her stories about day-to-day life in politics.
