Heartbreaking and important story, but not the best execution. Not sure if it was the audiobook or the writing itself but it wasn't my favorite. Well researched but sooo repetitive. Probably could have been about half the length too.
So much focus on the underage girls looks, how pretty they were, so it was a bigger deal that the radium destroyed their face and turned it into necrotic pus because they were pretty? This book was a little aggravating to read although it is a good storyline, I did not enjoy the way this was written. I read it pretty slow and she did not keep me hooked on the storyline. I ended up not finishing the book but skimming through and then tried a sample of the audio book and I would absolutely not recommend listening to that lady narrate it. A good storyline with good intentions but I don’t recommend this book.

Wow, just wow! This was amazing. I’d never knew any of this happened. The story of the Shining women is one I’ll never forget. What those women went through was very sad, and courageous. I found myself often googling these people for background information and just wow! I hate to rate this due to the actual story, but rate it based off of what they did for society.
