This being the first Birds of Prey graphic novel I have read, it wasn't too bad. I think the story is a bit convoluted but the idea of the villain is pretty terrifying. An enjoyable first volume.

I didn't really get into this book. I like the idea behind the team of characters and I felt like this book did a decent job introducing each of them. The problem they are trying to solve throughout the book held no interest for me though. It felt more like fluff to get things going without any real consequences for the team. I thought the art was pretty good. Not sure if I will continue with this series. More likely I will try to check out a Birds of Prey book from another creative team.

Quick impression: Good plot, but not great. Starts leaving readers with questions, ends with a cliffhanger, and not many if any questions answered. And if you are a new reader, though this is a "New 52" title, you may need to research the characters a bit or read previous stories to get the full picture.

Good start to a series with some reliable characters in Canary, Batgirl, Katana and Ivy. Not sure about Starling.

I've not really read very much Birds of Prey, nor DC, so I'm not that familiar with them.
But I quite liked this one; it was concise and had a nice overarching storyline without too much else to confuse or add in storylines from other parts of the DC universe- which I would never end up following, considering I only ever get comic books from the library.
Nice art, nice characters, I like some badass women.

This is good when it's good and terrible when it's bad. The team is fine and Batgirl's cameos are nice but the villain is dull. He's the really lame Moriarty of this mystery book. His troops fall faster than Vader's stormtroopers or Shredder's footsoldiers so they're really no fun. The most enjoyment is found in the interpersonal relationships between the 'heroines.' Poison Ivy and Katana are probably the most interesting characters in this volume as Starling's origins are kind of murky and Black Canary is almost as brooding -I mean as boring as Batman.
