Didn’t go in excited or invested but this was very well written regardless of the subject matter

This is right up there with Anna Wiener's Uncanny Valley, a prescient memoir illuminating the inner workings of one of the few industries that dictates so much of life in the United States in the 21st century.

This book is about so much more than private equity. While it is a fascinating glimpse into the lives and minds of the 1% of the 1%, it’s also a commentary on who in our society gets power, how even women at the very top are still treated like, well, women, and always expected to do more. It’s about how society places value on people and productivity, and what the cost of that productivity is. And more. Sun is a fantastic writer. I really enjoyed this book!
