More YA geared. I really enjoyed it. Basically aliens are taking over the earth and it's up to teenagers to survive. No smut

A look at life after an alien invasion of Earth. It moved along pretty well and the characters are likable enough (well, except for the villains, who are not-likable, by design.) Probably good for many tween and teen readers. It is told from multiple points of view which helps reveal some of the surprises. There is a little romance, but not enough to discourage boys or girls who don't like that kind of stuff. When I described the book to one student, she immediately compared it to I am Legend. And it is a little like that, in that most of the planet has been wiped out by the aliens, so we are reading about the survivors and what is happening to them.

Amazing book!! At first I didn’t think I was going to enjoy this as it was about aliens. I loved the story plot about cassie and her family coping during the waves.
She made a promise to her father to protect her brother and get him back.

It got a bit dry in mid half way of the book stopped reading. But manage to carry on reading once gotten into more chapters when more things were happening.

Absolutely stunning!
The whole concept is awesome and written beautifully. The first chapters are so easy to get through and Cassie's perspective is outstanding. As soon as Ethan showed up, I started to think how fake it all sounded and how forced that love triangle was being, but by the end of the book, Ethan turned out to be my favorite character.
By the end, it sounded perfect. I don't know how the next book will play out, but I can't wait to see more of this guy's writing!

There were a few things I liked and a few I didn't. The story itself was captivating, but the teen female protagonist was difficult for me to relate to. It felt similar to The Host and Divergent series books. However, I liked it enough to commit to reading the next book in this series.
