I absolutely loved this book! This is not my first time reading a book written by Robin Stevens, but I've found out that sometimes I need to read books from certain authors in their original language and Robin Stevens is one of them. Sure sometimes I found Daisy to be a bit annoying, but I suppose that's also the charm of the book. You don't have to like every character in a book, and throughout the book you saw both the character growth of Daisy and Hazel. I can't wait to read book two.
Read this if you're longing to go back to Malory Towers and enjoy Darryl and her adventures.
Also warning: this is settled in the 1934's so somethings may be considered controversial or not done anymore in these modern times and days but I promise you if you read further and move deeper into the book you realise that's part of the charm of the book and that what makes the book so good. And you realise that's also really good research on the authors side.

Enjoyable! Fun, interesting mystery and fun school atmosphere. Not sure about Daisy and Hazel’s relationship though. Daisy isn’t exactly a very nice person. And it felt like the author was maybe contrasting the two characters too much so it felt a bit… odd. But it also felt like the book might be hinting at the power imbalance and the kind of mystery of Daisy’s character and that it might mean something later so we’ll see. I hope Hazel grows a bit more confidence in the later books and actually stands up to Daisy every now and again.
