oh no, it’s anti-communist propaganda :(

likes: mrs. whatsit, mrs. who, & mrs. which (their characterization, the way they communicate and why, and the world building around what they are), tessaring, and the different planets

dislikes: the writing (very ‘60s), the characters and their relationships (underdeveloped), the lack of action taken by the characters/limited agency, the meandering plot with unanswered questions, and the perpetuation of anti-communist propaganda

I enjoyed this book, it was entertaining, but i didn't think it was anything to wrute home about. I found the story simple, the characters flat and the dramatic scenes too dramatic. Maybe I should have read it as a kid.

started trying to read this when i was 13, never could get past the first 3 chapters despite multiple attempts to read it. the world building is weird and anything's anything.

The difference between this book and The Chronicles of Narnia is that the plugs for God and Christianity are far more numerous and explicit in this one lol
