I remember this happening.  I mostly remember the media circus that surrounded it.  Getting the real story was fascinating, but also extremely depressing. 

The justice system is such a hornets nest. 

Well written and a very quick read.  The final chapter was kind of weak, not because of where things ended (because the author had no control over that) but the stylistic choices weren't great-kind of an unfortunate way to wrap things up. 

I would recommend this book.
