I really loved Zed and Dani and their chemistry. My big complaint is that there is one plotline that just seems quickly fixed. Still, I love this series and I'm really hoping the next book follows Jillian's best friend.

This audio book made a terrible 5 hour, two lane highway drive very enjoyable. We laughed out loud. We snickered. I spit out coffee. I do love Molly Harper's books for the "laugh factor".

The characters in the book are wonderful. There were a lot of frequent repeats from How to Date a Dragon so YAY!!!. Even the bad characters were so well written that they gave me the creeps.

Best of all Zed finds his perfect match and she doesn't make it easy for him. After what he did to Bael he more than deserved the hard time.

Fingers crossed that there are more to come. I know just where to to to enjoy the audiobook.

Mar 24, 2019 The eBook is here!!!! YAY!!!! Loved it. There is nothing better than reading pages of entertainment written by Molly Harper.

Dani is a strong, independent woman. But sometimes someone comes along that you connect with and the relationship blooms into much more than you were looking for.

Dani has some family complications that she needs the pay from this job to help with. Her job, observe and repair the Rift in Mystic Bayou. However, there's another here too. The few times she meets this other woman, the woman is condescending and good at making the self-trained Dani feel inadequate. But the Rift is getting worse & Dani has to stand up for her thoughts, even if she losses the job and pay.

Dani faces herself and her need to be so independent, all with Zed who's determined to be there for her and help her when she's ready. Yes, this is a romance. Zed is an important part of the story and learning how things go when he finds, what he feels is, his mate.

I enjoy seeing Zed on the receiving end of the jokes from Bael, after Zed being the one picking on his best friend Bael. This is such a great friendship with these two. Jillian makes a few appearances too! And we get a little tidbit on how her relationship is going with Bael.

Dani's story has a similar feel as Jillian's story had. She's not looking for love, but fun, smexy time is welcome. Dani is more straight forward with her wants than Jillian was. There is an arch for Dani and her relationships along with her family. The arch with the Rift is still being worked on, Dani is needed and comes to a semi-close but there's more trouble out there over that Rift. I'm sure that will be looked into in future books.

About the same level of not bad, not too engaging as the first one. Am I just not the target audience for this series? Might be. The romance not the most convincing, the underlying magic plot is continuing from the first book, and the magic system is kinda solid, but also not epic or anything of the sort.

I'm not sure if I fully believe the romance between Dani and Zed, I think it could've been developed more. Also, the twist was totally out of left field, and definitely could have been set up better. However, other than those two gripes, this was a really enjoyable, light hearted book. As always with this author, I loved the humor.
