A very basic and cute story about a handler and his penguin! It's so cute and adorable so please read if you just want something basic and cute like Pen-chan!

I wanted to love this more than I actually did.
The concept is fun, and the short episodic storytelling style makes for a quick, easy read.
The art feels a bit messy to me, and the style less cute than expected from the cover and from others' feedback. That's perfectly fine and isn't meant as a criticism - merely an observation.
While the humor may work well for some, I ended up more irritated than amused. The idea of a character working so hard only to be casually dismissed by the one they're doing it for rubs me the wrong way. I want to adopt Pen and give him a home of love and appreciation for all his effort!
My favorite part of this volume is the comedy of Pen's expressionless little face.
Thank you to NetGalley and Kodansha for the digital ARC in exchange for an honest review.

It was cute, but nothing that stood out to me. I could take or leave the series.

This manga follows pentaro and his owner’s every day life. Pentaro helps him get through the day like cooking his meals and doing his laundry.

This was such a cute and fun read and I finished it within minutes. I would like to read more about pentaro! The artwork was great! Pentaro’s expressions towards his owner was funny and the way he also calls him “owner” is also very funny. Hayakawa (his owner) was a little annoying because he tends to (but not on purpose) “ignore” Pentaro, but despite that Pentaro seems to like he likes him very much!

Such a light read!

I don't read very much manga, so when I do I'm often a little thrown by the different stylistic conventions etc. But I picked this up because it looked sooo cute. And it was, in fact, sooo cute. I am furious at the penguin's owner for taking the penguin's labor for granted though. RISE UP, PENGUIN.

A series of vignettes about a penguin and his hapless owner, who does not realize that the penguin is the only reason he's able to live the quality of life that he does. It's cute, but it didn't feel like there was much substance to it.

This is such a cute series! I feel bad for Pen though... He does all that work and Hayakawa doesn't even notice!
