In the beginning I could relate to the situation between the two friends, I’ve found myself in the shoes of Eloise and know exactly how it feels to deal with someone going the through the issues that Sarah was having. However as that side of the story progressed I found it got quite far fetched. The storyline that actually kept my interest, was Margaret’s. To see the thoughts from her point of view as her Alzheimer’s progressed was interesting and made me wonder if that’s actually how people feel who suffer from this.

slow-paced
Appallingly badly written, just pages of exposition and no story telling. This author must be laughing all the way to bank. She is prolific but Now writes utter drivel and it still gets published.
It’s an insult to readers everywhere. Not even worth one star.

I've read several Adele Parks novels and the writing on Amazon about this one made it sound a good read, the story of Eloise who moves to love in the country nearer to the in-laws and to live a quieter life. However Eloise suddenly has to contend with her best friends infertility and a mother-in-law struggling with dementia.
It is a slow moving read this one, I found many of the characters quite clear to see through from the outset. Sara, Eloise's best friend struggling with fertility issues is a horrible character and the whole build up storyline in the book is incredibly transparent and clear very early on. I didn't find that 'gosh I didn't see that coming' moment. Instead I found myself flicking past whole paragraphs ad finding I wasn't missing much. It wasn't that gripping.
It was a pleasant enough read but lacked sparkle.

Are you kidding me?
This book annoyed me from the get go. Not telling your son he is adopted? I can not get behind that at all. Sorry but no.
Secrets and lies will hurt you and your life. It's not a good thing.
This read like a poorly written soap.
