This was just eh.

A very quick read but not a particularly interesting one. Once again the humanity storyline is present but this time it is not handled very well. A bit uninteresting and bof.

I also felt like the Diana portrayed here was really really different from the Diana I read in other comics and the movie. But that might just mean I haven't read enough WW comics.

The art was not incredible so that didn't help either.

Quite a let down from the last one. Note : this is actually Vol 2 in the french editions

This series has always felt like an extended "What If" that doesn't know how to end, and this volume is no exception. I appreciate the use of
SpoilerMagog
to test the differences between Superman and Wonder Woman's approaches to heroics in the field of danger, but the conclusion felt easy and the faces looked weird too often.

So.....I really wanted to like this. I am interested in the story - a strange new hero with some hidden identity and connection to our two heroes. Wonderstar has no clue who or what he is, but it doesn't take long for the secret to be revealed. And even Superman is suspicious!

The problem is, sadly, more than just one thing. First, the backstory is pretty slim, without much actually explained. And it all falls apart pretty easily. The villain is kinda half-assed. Second, the art is just not my cup of tea. Particularly the character design. I mean, check out the faces:

And honestly, I spent most of my time reading trying not to look up Wonder Woman's vagina. And wondering who thought it was a good idea to put someone with, shall we say, generaous cleavage into a fighting leotard that barely covers the nipples?

Seriously, the leotard on the cover is the modest version of what they drew in the issues.

I'd say 2.5 of 5 - I'll round up to three because I did enjoy the relationship between Diana and Clark Kent. Based on their set personalities, the contention between the two of them, and the issues they disagree on, make perfect sense.

I like it but I am not sure why they jumped back. I thought at the end of the previous volume Diana had gone to take up Peace's mantle, yet in this collection she is still the God of War... Enjoyable story but the continuity thing is messing with me.
