This play delivered what I wanted out of a revenge tragedy. The plot was fast-paced, exciting, and convaluted. The characters were certainly not admirable, but almost universally interesting. If you want to read some early English drama besides Shakespeare, give this a go.

One of the absolute wildest plays I’ve ever read!
Very much “Sweeney Todd” vibes - pure, chaotic REVENGE

This is like, the Quentin Tarantino film of Jacobean revenge tragedy theatre. Well, it's more satirical than anything else, so maybe not.

Love this book. The Revenger's Tragedy is my favourite Renaissance plays, and this book has a very good copy. This book gives good notes and a good translations on all these plays.

Read twice, enjoyed more the second time. Great play in its depiction of courtly world that is rotten to the core.
