Classic Christie involving a double suicide (but a year apart) or possibly a double murder. Who knows? Well Colonel Race does and the random suspicious chap of the type that often appears in Christie novels. At a party to celebrate Rosemary's birthday she drinks her champagne at a rather nice restaurant (and surrounded by her husband , two lovers, her sister and her husbands personal assistant) and dies at the table by cyanide poisoning. A year later at a repeat of the event, her husband falls down dead. Who did it? We learn that Rosemary was a bit of a fool and not quite universally loved but...
This is a very nice murder mystery with a very satisfying ending.

Really enjoyed, Christie nailed the intrigue with this one. Twists and turns and pays off nicely at the end.

No surprise that Agatha Christie's novels are great mysteries. Even if I did end up guessing the culprit before the reveal, I still think the set-up of all the possible suspects was nicely done. I liked how all of the characters had motivations and were even set up as possibly being the killer so it left the readers guessing for a while. I'll be honest that I didn't figure out the culprit based on evidence; I just thought to myself "What if it was this person?" and it turned out to be that person. Maybe because I have read lots of mysteries and watched crime shows that I was able to guess the right answer.

I can't say I liked this one as much as "And Then There Were None", because to me that one was more showing the paranoia and fear of people. I still liked this formula of showing all of the suspects as they remembered Rosemary, since their perception of her character not only set them up as the suspects but also gained insights into how they viewed others as well as Rosemary. And the solution to one of the mysteries was very clever and honestly not something I would've picked up on. I was tempted to re-read a section of the book to see if I could catch what happened.

Overall, an enjoyable read from the Queen of Crime Novels. I like how she makes you pay attention when reading. I'll gladly pick up another one of her stories in the future.
