I had a great time reading this book. It is effectively three stories in one. The first- The actual physical novel in your hands. The second- The love story between Jennifer and Eric that unfolds in the margins of the pages. The third- the mystery surrounding the author of the fictional novel, Ship of Theseus, which Jennifer and Eric are researching together.

This really is an incredible project. Every aspect of it is thrilling and exciting, and it feels like you are reading two real people uncovering an actual mystery.

I love Jennifer and Eric. They’re both very flawed humans who find themselves through each other, and this books does an incredible job of making the reader care for them, even though the concept is very strange. Their story is told out of order; you read their thoughts spread out randomly (and sometimes purposely) throughout the book. Their timeline can be tracked somewhat through each character’s use of different pens, but there is still some guesswork as to where we are in their story at any given point in time.

This book is an incredible thriller. It’s legitimately hard to put down.
