I originally didn’t know how I felt about human male and female Kraken but after this book, I see no problem with it. Rhea is very blunt and straightforward which seemed like exactly what Randall needed. She helped give him purpose among the Krakens and I love her arc because she was not a favorite in book one. I can’t wait for Kronos to get his comeuppance. This conflict among Krakens is reaching a boiling point and sides are drawn. I look forward to Dracchus book. I’m not sure how I feel about him. He seems very cut and dry, like Rhea.

D-awwwww
Sweetie Randall 100% needed his book and Rhea was a good match for him. She had already been building a friendship with the human women and thus had a better understanding of human behavior. Although they still had their fair share of miscommunications. They were adorbs together, especially because he was a total cinnamon roll. Only major change I would have liked is more time spent on building the relationship between her daughter and him.
Spice: 4/5
Triggers: gun violence, violence, gore, home invasion

Short and Sweet! Another great romance from Roberts. I’m loving seeing this world and its characters develop. And stoked about a female monster lead.
Graphic: Sexual content
Minor: Violence and Colonisation

Awe
Rhea is one of the few females in the Kraken populous and has a young daughter named Melanie. In book one, Rhea is a complete jerk who doesn't want to share with the human women. Until she meets Randell, who came with his dark past of betrayal, she claims him as soon as she sees him, and the story takes off from there.
I have noticed that there aren't many alien female romance books, but usually, the women die from a disease, and the males need to repopulate their planet.
Nevertheless, Rhea's story was an excellent take on the alien female's romance with a human male.
