Wow! A fantastic conclusion to the Dreamblood duology. The second book primarily follows new characters 10 years after the events in The Killing Moon. However, we do get to spend moments with Nijiri and Sunandi. Through complex character arcs, Jemisin masterfully explores themes of identity and healing. The story also addresses heavier topics that made me once again pose the question: Is death a gift of peace? I cannot rave enough about the vivid world-building and beautiful prose. Jemisin truly is a masterful writer and storyteller. This duology was a great place for me to start as I work through her catalog.
