What do you do when you find too much treasure? When you have collected so many things and your house is full and the local municipal workers have nothing else to do (because you’ve collected all the community detritus) so they start grooming squirrels? Will Maggie become a dragon-like hoarder?

Maggie instead becomes a master maker and creates delightful objects for her entire community. The story is one for any family blessed with a collector. I think Maggie’s parents would get along well with Pokko’s froggy mom and dad. I certainly found myself sympathetic.

The illustrations are blocky solid-shaped collage style. Bright and bold and loud and strange.

the story in this book is great but the artwork really creeped me out and made me uncomfortable for no logical reason.
