This was ironically different to my experience with Sushi For Beginners, where I knew I'd read it before but thought I couldn't remember a single thing, but then found memories deep in the chest of my brain. Here, I was sure I'd read it before and thought I remembered key moments, but turns out I must have been confusing it with a different book!
Still, I found this cute and enjoyable, and oh my goodness was I so mad at James at the end! Keyes was ahead of her time when it came to portraying gaslighting, given this book has the same age as I do.
Only thing I'm wondering is why the book is called Watermelon?

This is a classic read on the beach and get over involved in people’s lives book (apart from me being very much not on holiday). My main issue is that all the men are completely insufferable… irredeemably.

I don't yet have the words to describe this stunning work of fiction. One of those ones you feel deeply. An author who can transport you into the eyes of another holds a special power. Keyes has used this power well here.

Didn’t enjoy this as much as most recent book I’ve read by this author about the Walsh family. Another reviewer described it as tedious and at times it did feel this way to me. Didn’t feel like it had as much of a storyline and I struggled with some of the characters analysis of her situation and relationships. But hey ho - I would still would love to meet the Walsh family!
