I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Keyes honest, hilarious, blunt narration was engaging and entertaining. I am so disappointed to find my digital library does not carry all of her books as I would now like to finish this series. However, this can serve as a standalone and is well worth the time.
Marian Keyes is my favorite author out there - all of her books are great reads. This is probably my favorite of them all.
I absolutely loved this book! Marian Keyes' conversational style of writing made reading this book so fun and fabulous. I felt like I was one of her girlfriends and we were discussing what had been happening with her over tea. The story takes off right from the first page and you can't help but fall in love with each character. I loved her family (can't wait to read the other Walsh sister books), and I LOVED hating James!! I laugh out loud often at a great book...and this one was no exception :)
I just re-read this for my bookclub. I have a feeling I'm the only one who liked it. In fact, I loved it. Seriously, no one can make me laugh out loud more than Marian Keyes. Oh, and I love being reminded that other people have crazy family members - that it's not just me. Only, I don't think mine are as funny. ;-)

I'm having ups and downs with this so far. I really love Marian Keyes humor, and that's what keeps me going. I'm having a hard time totally caring about Claire though, and I'm not sure what I'm missing. I almost feel like there is just too much of her that I don't know. I know her sisters better than her. I can't identify with the new mom thing, or the husband leaving her thing, and I'm just not finding anything to latch on to. Except the drinking, as I've done a bit of that lately myself :) I'm planning to stick with it, as I'm really only 1/3 of the way in. But so far it just doesn't meet my Lucy Sullivan standards...This has gotten much better since I hit about 1/2 way. I'm really enjoying the style of the author talking to me. It's like a phone conversation with a friend, telling the story to ME, not just to any random person. That's unique, and really appeals to me. I've also gotten to know Claire much better, and just read the funniest thing ever about which sexual position she favors. NOW I can identify with her :) Actually, I'm finding that she's a bit of a vanilla person, but is perfectly happy being a vanilla person. I think that is what I'm finding most endearing about her at this point...Finally done. I discovered the parts that were dragging were when Claire would go on and on about her and James, analyzing the whole situation. Much like having a friend drone on and on, talking non-stop about their drama. But aside from that part, I'd say this was pretty good in the end.

Leuk en ontspannen boek om te lezen, met een grappige vertelwijze. Niet perse mijn genre, maar door de humor wel een erg leuk boek
