My first foray into the work of Marian Keyes, although I’ve admired her for a long time.

For a whopper of a book, I absolutely flew through it. It was just so easy to read; the characters were so believable and I loved the dynamic Marsh family.

While parts of it definitely felt dated and very 90s - I struggled with the casual fat-shaming amongst other things - I mostly loved it. Marian had such a gift for writing comically about subjects that are really moving and heart-wrenching.

Can’t wait to read more of her work.

What a way to start a life after giving birth- getting left by your husband. This was my first Marian Keyes book, I’m very unsure what I thought of it. The book didn’t capture my attention, I didn’t feel I could relate or even like the characters. I have to admit, I skipped a large chunk of the book. However, I did enjoy Keyes writing style, so will definitely try a different title.

Okay, so GR doesn't let me select 1/2 stars, as I would have marked it 4.5 (I loved it!) versus a 5, which I'm super stingy in giving out for ratings. With all of that being said for my rating explanation, I also want to give a disclaimer in that my genre of choice is Thriller/Suspense, so for me to give a Chick-Lit book such a high rating really says something about this book!

This book was recommended to me by a friend, and I am so grateful for her recommendation!

I loved this book! The characters were well developed...like I felt I knew who they were and could picture their very being. The main character Claire was hilarious, and she spoke, thought, and acted a lot like how I would anticipate I may act in some of the situations she was in.

Ladies, this is a great read! I can't wait to get my hands on more from this author!
