The outdated language and attitudes in the book reminds me that the nineties was a long time ago. There were definitely some cringeworthy scenes. The attempts at humor weren’t that funny, there’s no real plot to speak of and the characters weren’t endearing, especially the men. Too much of the time is spent inside Claire’s head. I’ll give more of the series a shot, though.

Audiobook and Ebook - flipped back and forth between the two. Loved this, it’s everything I want in my chick lit. I thoroughly enjoyed the stream of consciousness first person narration, the misunderstandings made me squirm (in a good way?), and I laughed out loud. Claire is funny and I loved her family!
