It's funny that this is described as "unflinching," because it is in fact one of the most flinching memoirs I have ever read. Fine book for readers who need a trans 101, are enmeshed in YouTube/fandom culture, and need their hand held through basic concepts like "this memoir is about the person writing it, not every trans person ever." It's less a memoir and more a very generic collection of trans resources with benign personal observations attached. I would probably direct people to the bibliography and resource pages instead of the book itself.
