This book had so much Friendship Power I just can't. It was great, and such a joy to read. Will totally be rereading this book again next October.

Fun considering it's horror. Even better if you are in the Chicago suburbs as I am now.
Would make a delightful horror comedy film.

Thank you to the Penguin Group and NetGalley for letting me enjoy this book early in exchange for my honest review!

This is a pretty straightforward story of possession, grief and friendship and I had a great time reading it. It was quick witted, warm and I appreciated the horror movie references that were peppered in. I do think it could’ve been a little shorter; at times it had pacing issues but overall, a great little spooky/sweet story about what happens when a demon comes for the moms and children of suburbia.

A light read, some horror some friendship

Fun horror comedy about suburban moms dealing with a demon that was inadvertently summoned. I really enjoyed it, it felt fast paced and it included some commentary on suburbia. Plus, one of the moms was a fan of Jimmy Buffet, so like, how could I not give a star for that?

4/5 stars!

This was so much fun! It had all the suburban neighborhood and mommy drama mixed in with a possession story and some creepy elements. The perfect comedy horror and exactly what I wanted from it.

This was just a less dark and intense version of the southern bookclub's guide to vampire slaying. Also... The power of friendship

Was this supposed to be funny? I thought it would be funny! It follows a group of suburban moms who accidentally summon an evil witch person while having a She-Shed built for their get togethers.

This was trying to be a cute, cozy “horror” novel, but failed on every front. It was sort of funny at the beginning, but lost its humor almost immediately. The tone was just never quite there, and it didn’t get super dark and scary either. It was just a book about a random house wife discovering the power of friendship randomly mourning her sister that plays like zero role in this until the end. Boring and don’t recommend.

Disappointing that I didn’t enjoy it as much as I hoped. I thought the first half was somewhat ok, but it felt a bit drawn out, especially towards the end. Nothing about the book excited me and honestly had multiple moments where I wanted to DNF it. Didn’t hate it enough for one star, though.
