Morbid, campy fun! I really love a book that doesn’t take itself to seriously. I picked up this book expecting a quick, light read (as light as demonic possession can get anyways) and Suburban Hell delivered just that. The book did have its heavier moments (TW: addiction//overdose). As well as a couple chapters that dragged and didn’t add much to the plot, but I think those bits were really just a reflection of real suburban mom life. Overall I’d say it was exactly the fun little ride I was after. Looking forward to reading more from this author!

A fun book about balancing the demands of the suburban mom and saving your friend from demonic possession, Suburban Hell was an enjoyable if forgettable read.

After moving to the suburbs Amy Foster makes friends quickly with neighbours Liz, Jess, and Melissa. One night the group decided to behind a club house called the She Shed. Just for them, no husbands or kids.

After breaking ground to start the build, the group unknowingly unleashes a demonic force upon their neighbourhood. When Liz becomes possessed the other girls must figure out how to stop the evil spirit and save themselves.

My Thoughts: I liked this one. It was a quick fun read that reminded me of My Best Friend’s Exorcism (which I also loved).

If you love possession style books or horror comedy type books this one is definitely for you!

Well this was disappointing. The humor was on point and the friendship was sweet. I know this is supposed to be a comedy horror but this tried to make the possession both funny and scary and under delivered for both. Also, the thing with the bunnies was weird. This was ultimately boring and took way too long for anything to really happen. Grady Hendrix's My Best Friend's Exorcism did it better.
