Andromeda is an absolute badass! Sheā€™s a very capable agent of the Archive and one lady who knows how to kick butt. Even more, sheā€™s so fierce, strong and brave. And she will do everything in her power to protect the people she cares about, even if it means going against orders. I loved her so, so much!

Luke is nerdy, brilliant and so sweet! Heā€™s big, strong and always in pursuit of knowledge. And he might be peaceful and get sick at the sight of blood, but when needed, Luke can show as much courage and badassery as the most capable agent of the Archive. And you know what they say about the quiet onesā€¦ Shy on the streets, but, oh boy, what a magnificent monster between the sheets! That huge green orc is such a wonderful male and I absolutely adored every single thing about him!

I loved everything that happened between Andy and Luke! They have a past neither of them has gotten over. Then, Luke is captured by the Protectors and Andromeda is sent to retrieve her ex-husband from the enemy. But the mission doesnā€™t go according to plan and a new mission is in place when Andy discovers that Lukeā€™s quest is a matter of life and death. I adored everything about those two - the undeniable chemistry, the banters, the tension, the snark, the serious and much needed conversations, the ways they worked through their issues and all the ways they worked together and were there for each other in their weaker moments. And the passion!!! The spice was off-the-charts hot!!! When that brainy orc went all bossy, dominant and possessiveā€¦ šŸ„µšŸ„µšŸ„µ I couldnā€™t get enough of those two! Luke and Andy were such opposites and, yet, so perfect for each other and more than deserved a second chance to find happiness and love together.

In addition, the storyline was phenomenal! If you love Tomb Raider and Indiana Jones, youā€™re definitely going to love this story, too! Thereā€™s adventure, thereā€™s danger, there are ancient mystical artifacts, there are hidden traps and trials that will test a personā€™s mind, body and soul. And, there are also some vile baddies bent on world domination that need to be dealt with. With everything happening, I was glued to the pages till the very end.

Overall, Abandon is another remarkable addition to the series! Itā€™s filled with non-stop action, danger, adventure, drama, suspense, twists, blazing hot passion and spectacular characters.

I couldnā€™t put it down and absolutely loved every page of it!
And with that epilogue, I cannot wait to see what will happen next!

[HONEST SPOILER-FREE ARC REVIEW]

Adventure romances are not really my thing, but this book honestly might have changed my mind!!

I LOVE Indiana Jones and Orc romance books separately and I'm a bit iffy with with second-chance romances, but this book combined all three PERFECTLY!!

The fun adventure plot, the bringing the broken couple back together, THE FREAKING PINING IN THEIR POVS!! I loved how understandable their worries and troubles felt even though one was a monster, and even the Orc MMC, Luke's, illness was perfectly portrayed in a way that made you feel his pain and gosh my heart hurt for him so much!! And the FMC, Andy's, reaction was perfectly relatable and I loved how she stood by him!!

I really enjoyed the second-chance side of the relationship too, because there was no dumba$$ mistake or misunderstanding, it was just a couple falling apart and not knowing how to fix it, and time apart was just what they needed to bring them back together and realise the mistakes they had both made. And I really liked that - I liked how the blame wasn't solely placed on one character.

The spice was good too, but for a monster romance, it was on the light side in my opinion, and it flowed with the plot perfectly. Like it didn't feel forced into the story for the sake of having spicy scenes, but went hand-in-hand with the adventure (like heat of the moment things) and the romance.

My only real issue was that some scene felt tooo Indiana Jones, like basically copied, so I would have liked more original scenes, and I don't know if this was a mistake, but Luke was said to be 6 ft 1 and that is NOT an orc height hahaha - but that was just a minor thing.

Otherwise, I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed this!! Definitely recommend!!

Thank for Trish Heinrich for the ARC!!!

Sheā€™s been sent to extract her captured ex-husband. What she doesnā€™t know is the one man mission heā€™s on is personal and a matter of life and death. And he stills wears his wedding ring.

Our MMC is an orc who is a Clark Kent type loving history, Star Wars, and his books. Our FMC is all things tactical with a penchant for Thin Mints. This book is a fun time. Think Warehouse 13 or Indiana Jones but add in a cast of characters of the not human variety who hide behind glamours and protect the world from dangerous artifacts. Plus romance and spice!

Abandon is a Monster Tomance from the Monsters & Artifacts series. This book is a standalone, featuring Luke & Andromeda (Andy). Andromeda is an Absolute Bad@ss! And Luke is a nerdy, dirty-talking sweetheart who will still your heart. I Loved all the snark. The mentions of Star Wars were Awesome. The sweet moments and the heart-wrenching ones got me in All the feels. Abandon is Another Amazing Addition to this series! Itā€™s filled with a little bit of everything. The characters & Worldbuilding are Phenomenal. I couldnā€™t put it down! Absolutely Loved Every Single about it. That Epilogue, I cannot wait to see what will happen next! Definitely Your Next 5 ā Read..

I love the Monsters & Artifacts series of Standalones; each one has something unique to offer, and together, they build a rich world where monsters operate outside the notice of mundane humans with magical artifacts and lore. Abandon was such a fun read! Itā€™s a bit of Indiana Jones and Lara Croft Tomb Raider with Harrison Ford played by a sexy orc saved by the kickass special agent FMC who saves the day while dodging bullets and looking hot the whole time (minus the awkward shower scene). It is a great blend of action/adventure and romance, pitting exes together to find a fabled treasure.

I was 100% invested in Luke and Andyā€™s rekindling relationship. It was easy to see why they fell in love the first time and how insecurities drove them apart. That they stayed in love with one another, even when they couldnā€™t make it work, broke my heart. It seemed like their reunion would have an expiration date, and they would not be able to rekindle their relationship but thank goodness for small miracles and HEAs.

The steam smolders as each remembers the feel, scent, and taste of one another, and they get distracted at the most inopportune times by spicy thoughts. Honestly, as intrusive thoughts go, they could be worse. At least these lead to a happy ending! Luke is a very giving lover and oral enthusiast. Andy loves to be claimed and to carry the marks of their joining.

I loved this couple and sincerely hope we get cameos (if not a whole book!) from them in the future.

Trish Heinrich has created my latest book boyfriend. Luke is nerdy and sweet, with a dash of possessive. The chemistry between Andromeda and Luke was NEXT LEVEL! I love how the female FMC Andy is a complete badass that had to go and save her man when he is taken by baddies. I was cheering for these two to rekindle their romance from the beginning. This series has me in a chokehold and Iā€™m not mad about itšŸ˜

This was a fun adventure! It was a little slow to start but once things got rolling, I was anxious to see what booby trap they'd hit next. Andy is a badass with a knife but I loved seeing her soft moments. Luke had those tusks and a tendency to either bury his head in his books or between her thighs and I am HERE FOR IT. This book is definitely perfect for any monster romance and Indiana Jones fans.

"Courage isnā€™t the absence of fear. Itā€™s the strength to face it all down and doing whatā€™s necessary to defeat it, no matter the cost."

"I want to leave my marks across your skinā€¦ a map of where Iā€™ve been and where I want to go."

Received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
