How could I not read a book about a librarian who has the ability to travel back in time? This was very enjoyable and I love the idea of using a books to travel inside. There was some language, which was mostly used in the contemporary time line, not the historical one. The language was not necessary and could have easily been left out. There was also sex, which though I didn't care for that inclusion, did play a major part in one of the relationships. Gee, I just talked myself into giving this three stars.
I wanted to like it... I wanted it to be quick and fun and romance-ey, which is what I was feeling that day, but it was so boring. I honestly didn't care for our main character, Emme, and the Jack wasn't all that charming either. There was so much insta- everything. Insta-love. Insta-friendship. Emme was a bit shallow and cared about how she looked a little too much for my taste.
i got tricked by the pretty cover and the title. not happening again. it seems like very little research went into this book, be that medicine, science, history or how libraries work. i don't claim to know anything about the first two but i do know some things about the latter two and,,,, just no. i think there's an actual part in the book that's just "where she did other library things". what are the library things, christy? have you ever asked anyone how libraries actually work, christy? christyyy??
the romance was pretty cute in the beginning but then he just got super annoying and seeing as our heroine was also super annoying already, that wasn't a good combo.
very cool concept, not such a cool execution.

Emme is your regular sorority girl, she goes to philanthropy events and parties, until her Grandma gets ill and she has to go home to Maine. Her Grandma who raised her owns a library in a small town in Maine, when she passes away Emme now has to become the new Librarian, little does she know that this is more meaningful that just running the library....
This book has pretty much all you could want in a fun and easy read. It has fantasy, romance, and good friendships. This plot was pretty interesting- a time traveling librarian that records the history of influential people- yes please. It developed well and the main character had development as she determined what truly was important in her life.
This is a great book if you want a medium paced relaxed read to get you out of a slump!

What can I possibly say about this amazing book that one hasn't already said? I loved this story. It was one of the best time-travel books I have read in years. Christy had me believing I was traveling in this book. Amazing!!! If I could give it more than 5 stars I would. It's 10 star rating from me! I am now hoping, wishing there would be more stories with The Librarian :)

A story about someone who can enter into the books she reads and travel through time - what's not to love?!!
At times it was a little on the soppy side, but for the most part it was a really good read! I've suggested my library buy the second (and third) in the series, so I hope they do...!
