I can't make myself write a somewhat cohesive review about why I didn't finish this, but here are my reading updates with some edits which explain my decision at least a little bit.

If you think about trauma and issues people can have, this town has it all.. Edit: Seriously, there's not one character without some sort of traumatic event that happened to them and most of the time it's one of the first things you get to know about them.

I have to say, I find the police in this very incompetent.. The fact alone that they don‘t even consider shutting down a teenage girl‘s social media account where she spreads all sorts of attention seeking videos to the point it interferes with the investigation into her missing and (so far) one dead friends incl. her twin sister is just questionable, not to mention some of the female detective‘s comments.. Edit: Comments about how she seems to enjoy physical altercations in order to show off her black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu or how this is one of the best cases she's worked on because of all the urban legends surrounding it.. And then there's her colleague with severe PTSD, so much so he has to bring his own curtains and bedding to the hotel he's staying at, which I'm not mentioning to make fun of but to highlight how unfit for this job he is, I mean even his supervisor knows this, threatening him with his psych report and what would happen if people found out about it.. oh and he also uses the D&D alignment system to brainstorm the suspects which I'm most certainly making fun of..

I can only guess there‘s more to the story (and hopefully I can find out what in some spoilery reviews) since I‘m only a bit more than half done with this, but I just can’t take it seriously anymore.. All the grown-ups are completely useless, high and violently angry all the time, (Edit: two teachers) sleeping with teenage girls and generally keeping secrets because they are blackmailed by another teenage girl.. I just.. I can‘t..
