Forgot I had read this. Obviously not memorable, but a great summer light read.

I really enjoyed this. Had a hard time putting it down. It made me laugh and cry. I'd give it 4 1/2 stars.

I’ll start off by saying that this is not the type of book I would ever choose to read. I purchased it for free when I first got my kindle and bought every free book there was. I was trying to clear some books off my list and said I’d give it 50 pages. But I found this book delightful! I was invested in the story and the characters, there was some really funny dialogue, and it left you with a good feeling. My only criticism is that I would be moseying along and then there would be something vulgar in it that would take me out of the story, but I think that’s just because I am not a romance novel person. Someone who is would give this 5 stars, no question.

Just an okay read. Two people who have endured pain find themselves in the Appalachians. They heal as they endure more hardship. Fun characters.

Kindle freebie - A highly unlikely story but enjoyable and inspiring nonetheless.

What salvages this book is the fact that the author's characters are so loveable. These are people you would want to meet. The story is preposterous (life often is) and the romance is ridiculous---but the characters will keep you reading.

Excellent book. About family and cooking. Set in the mountains of NC, with lots of quirky and eccentric people.

Deborah Smith has a magic with the Southern Appalachian setting, and she can make a reader fall in love with flawed characters. While I suspected Cathy Deen and Thomas would hook up, the challenges, setting, twists and turns kept me looking forward to picking up the book each night I slid into bed. It's the type of story you want to enter and never leave because you want to live in that community, amongst those people you've come to love. Smith takes flaws and makes them so beautiful. I see that as the best asset to her writing voice.
