Thank you so much Laurence King Publishing for granting me access to this book via Netgalley! It's one of the best things I've read, ever!!! I knew as soon as I saw that cover and read the blurb that I had to read this one, and I definitely wasn't disappointed!

I can go on and on about the things that are amazing about this book, but the list would be endless. It's categorized as children's nonfiction, but I feel that everyone of all ages can benefit a lot from reading this one. It features myths and legends from so many cultures from all over the world, and I learnt so many new things. I've been a lover of mythologies for as long as I can remember, and reading this made me realize how much of mainstream mythology is dominated by European (especially Greek) mythology.

The book featured such amazing, colorful, vibrant, and detailed illustrations. The pages were bursting with so much life and it was so easy to get lost in the book. With each short entry, there were amazing illustrations right on the same page so you could get a good pictorial rendering of that creature or story.

I loved that the book also had a general introduction to what myths and legends are, which is perfect for young readers or anyone who might be getting their first introduction to myths and legends through this book. Most entries of different creatures also had some short stories connected to them. Apart from talking about different myths, the entries also mentioned the culture/people who believe in the myth, or where the myth originated from.

I loved learning about new cultures, people, and myths through this book.

Thanks to Netgalley for providing me with a copy for an honest review, which I will always be.

This book is an encyclopedia of magical beasts with folk tales about some of them.
Beside the descriptions and tales, we're gifted beautiful illustrations which help in giving us a clearer picture and kickstart our imagination.

As an encyclopedia, I expected this to be a dry listing where my imagination would be brought to its edge, but was surprised to stumble upon a world, already painted for me. The text was also not to dry or long and complimented the illustrations perfectly.

A perfect gift for every child or adult, interested in mythology or not.

Mythopedia's illustrations are utterly gorgeous, the bright colour palette used and the full page spreads are reason enough to give this book a read.

A great non-fiction book for children about some lesser known mythical creatures and the legends that accompany them.

Thanks to Laurence King publishing for an advanced copy of Mythopedia.
