The Wilder family are all dealing with grief in their own way. They all get to say goodbye intheir own ways. There are a few truly teary moments in the book so if you don't want to free a tear or two maybe give this one a mix until you're in a better place.
Ivy could come across as different personalities at times. She could go from outgoing and happy to professional businesswoman in the blink of an eye. She grew up around extreme wealth and privilege, where appearance was everything. But marrying just for business advantages, even she doesn't seem to be amenable to that.
From Daddy's girl to family outcast, now Ivy has to make a profit in a tiny town or she'll never have Daddy dearests respect again. I did enjoy watching her come into her own, learn what makes her happy and even though she still has that bit of snobbery around her, she's a lot less Park Avenue Princess.
Cameron has a lot of demons in his emotional baggage. His kindness and outgoing personality, however, have not been affected. He may be all sunshine in public but he is a man who likes control in the bedroom!
From steamy elevator escapades, the story develops into a bit of a slow burn, with plenty of tension!

Cameron Wilder is probably my favorite Karla Sorensen MMC yet! He's so emotionally mature and is just all around stand up guy, particularly when it comes to his family and of course, Ivy. This is an emotional and heavy book, especially when it comes to the storyline with their father. This is a small town romance with the right amount of spice and swoonworthy moments. I really loved getting to see more of the Wilder family and even characters from the author's other series. The premise of them having to work together to restore the house was really cute and a sweet way to bring them together. I especially enjoyed their meet cute in the elevator. There's something about that microtrope that just does something for me. Trapped for hours in an enclosed space where you have to talk and get to know each other? Yes, please. This is such a great series and I can't wait for Ian's story and Poppy's story!

So far I can say that this book has become a favorite of this author, it made me laugh, it made me cry, it made me feel and I love it when a book completely destroys me and puts me back together again.
The story of Cameron and Ivy is beautiful, both together and individually they have stories that just make you want to read more and more; Ivy, a city girl, rich and with an authoritarian father, is "punished" for not marrying the man her father said she should and that punishment is to go to a small town in Oregon, to a property her mother left her when she died to make it a business he can be proud of, of course our girl does not say no to this challenge and embarks on this adventure where she meets Cameron again and they have another somewhat eventful encounter. Ivy is a real city girl, she's super focused and a little grumpy but I love her personality, she's strong and even though she hasn't had love in her life she welcomes it (even with her resistance to it), Cameron on the other hand I think and I can say is one of my favorite characters Karla has written, he's super focused on his business, he's super loving with his family and above all he goes step by step with Ivy because he knows she's worth it.
This couple has stolen my heart, the whole Wilder family is my favorite literary family and I want them to adopt me, I tell you I laughed at all the occurrences of all of them, I loved how Ivy little by little began to understand a new reality and felt loved because my girl deserves all that, well, at the end I cried a lot, I didn't expect to cry as much as I did, but that's the magic of these books.
Karla Sorensen gives us this book that goes straight to my favorites list.
✨ Thanks to the author and wildfire marketing solutions for the e-arc in exchange for my honest review!!
