Miss Marple both is and is not present in this mystery. While Miss Marple does assist with the mystery, the story actually follows Giles and Gwenda; so Miss Marple, once again, is not actually the protagonist.
I also had a big problem with the fact that Miss Marple does a ton of gardening in this book. Every other Miss Marple book bemoans the fact that Miss Marple is no longer able to garden because of her rheumatism. Doctors orders. So why is she gardening now?
The mystery itself was alright. It felt repetitive as they kept going over the same things again and again. I’ll stick to modern cozy mysteries from now on.

It is a gripping story that would leave you guessing with all the twist and turn. But I guessed the plot twist the moment they started looking for the murderer.

It is a good story. It just did not surprise or blow my mind in any way.
