I've enjoyed this book and read it several times a year since I was young. A ferry capsizing, getting picked up by a whaler, rescuing another literary person, getting wrecked in the whaling boat, and all the brutality in between period Mr. London definitely tells a wonderful story.

This book was written so beautifully with vivid descriptions of scenery and nature along with great images and formation of the characters. It’s a sea adventure mixed with philosophical discussions. I really enjoyed reading this book (and can’t wait to discuss it with my dad)!

Didn't like it. Really overly descriptive - I was skipping entire paragraphs at a time, and I thought the whole thing was just over the top ridiculous.
Jack London wrote a pirate story. Do I need to write more?
