The first chapter had me, but the second chapter lost me. The FMC very much gave me bad, Wattpad Y/N vibes. After she walked in our her husband and her best friend, I honestly expected her to be auctioned off to One Direction. It was just a no for me.

It’s 500 pages of hurry up and wait. I almost dnf’ed a few times but figured the turn around was right around the corner. Finally it was then it was over.
The author spends almost too much time trying to world build. The FMC spends most of the book complaining she’s bored (which same girl, same). The entire population of the the kingdom is suffering from a curse that doesn’t get explained fully until about 45 pages from the end. The king who is supposed to be the villain is absent for about 90% of the book so when he is eventually defeated there is no real sense of satisfaction. The characters also didn’t get a whole lot of development and remained fairly one dimensional.
I gave it two stars because it was a book that could be read.
