I thought this book was a lighthearted quick to read romance book but oh boy did MC had a bad relationship with her parents especially her mother. Controlling mother and neglecting father doesn't make this book a joy to read.

Also, I wouldn't recommend it if you have a difficult relationship with food. While I understand that MC was pressured by her mother to diet and definitely should not be treated badly only because of her weight, it doesn't mean that eating an unhealthy amount of chocolate and ice cream is the better way. And making fun of people who enjoy veggies over fries doesn't make MC's way of lige healthier.

At least her sister and the male lead made it worth reading it to the end. Their mother was so toxic and still MC just forgave her after one measly talk. Honestly the whole family should've gone to therapy instead of just their parent who went to marriage consulting.

So the FMC is pretty much her family’s doormat.  Which is a trope authors like to use for plus sized characters.  And I’m over it.  I get that the book should show her growth but I’m 26% percent in and it’s hard to read how pathetic she is.  And as a plus sized reader I’m honestly tired of this narrative.  Could have done the break up and had it make her angry instead of more of a doormat.  And where is the romance?  How far do I need to read before I start seeing the attraction?  I’m tired of authors using “plus size” to justify a character being a doormat.  There are plus sized women who fall in love and a lot of them are not doormats to their abusive families.
