My girls really enjoyed this book. It was actually quite the book, held you on quite well. Some parts were nerve-wracking, others joyous, others suspenseful. All sorts of emotions really. A lovely and powerful historical fiction story.

The book overall was good. There were a few times where the plot and storyline was hard to follow but it was a great book.

I loved this historical fiction about a topic I have never seen in Kidlit - Chernobyl.

The emotional journey of the characters was very reminiscent of The War that Saved my Life.

Historical fiction is not typically my jam but I enjoyed this one - it was sad and heartwarming at the same time. There was very serious (and important) subject matter for a middle grade book and I appreciated the resources included at the back. I felt like this was well researched and I LOVED that it was a female centered story.

What a great middle grades historical fiction read. I loved the two timelines and how they came together. This was a heartbreaking story about loss and friendship.
