A fun, lighthearted and interesting read. The first half was a little slow, but then the second half picked up the pace and was a page turner. I really enjoyed the historic descriptions of London in the 1990s that really transports the reader.

A lawyer crosses a dangerous line with a former client and discovers that some decisions are indefensible…

I really enjoyed this book - it felt like a mash up of part legal thriller and part psychological thriller. I felt like the join worked really well together and I have never read anything like that before. I struggled to put this book down as I was so interested in what was going to happen next.

I wasn’t sure how all of the timelines would come together as there was a lot of them and I did sometimes get confused about them. However, when it came to the courtroom aspect of the book, it made sense. I really loved the courtroom aspect of the book, which made me enjoy the book more as I did find the start to be a bit slow.

I didn’t dislike nor like some of the characters but there was some that I didn’t like and found suspicious. I really liked the descriptions of the different settings as I could picture them clearly in my mind.

Thank you read media & bloodhound books for my copy!

⚠️ CWs: cursing, alcohol use, sexual assault, transphobia, homophobia, cheating, sex, serial killers (Fred and Rose West), death by suicide, gun use; mentions animal murder and masturbation ⚠️

I like a good legal thriller and this started off as a legal thriller but then developed into a psychological thriller as we found out more about Daniel and his sometimes dodgy ethics.
I found my interest dipping a bit as the early story seemed to come to a conclusion but then it picked back up.
