I have liked the books that I have read in this series so far but this was so bad. First of all, I hate when the girl has to grovel. The past timeline was rushed, the writing didn't flow, the present timeline was worse. The book doesn't actually start until  the 40%  mark. Another thing, what the author was trying to write about was a conservatory not an observatory. An observatory is for space and and conservatory is for plants. A quick google search would have told her that. I feel like she watched "Queen Charlotte" and ran with it.  I did not like Zane and Celeste in this book at all.  They were both toxic and very insecure and jealous. I strongly disliked the relationship. Also at the risk of sounding like a prude, I disliked how much sex was in this. Like...are yall incaple of having a conversation that doesn't allude to sex or ends up with you guys having sex??? I'm sorry but the smut was too much. It was happening every other chapter and sometimes every chapter. I didn't like this book at all.

Mrs.Maura has done it again, made me believe that love could actually be real. Now was this my fav book of the series?? NO

I'm spoiling the book so DON'T READ ANYTHING ELSE AFTER THIS POINT.

I loved the beginning of Zane and Celeste's past but hated the present. SHE SENT SIR TO JAIL??? LITERAL JAIL???? ALL BECAUSE SHE BELIEVED THAT HE CHEATED ON HER WITH HER DEAD FRIEND WHO SHE OBVISOULLY COULDN'T OF KNOWN THAT WELL CONSIDERING THE MULTIPLE DISORDERS SHE ENDED UP HAVING???? A BEST FRIEND CAN'T HIDE SOMETHING LIKE THAT FROM YOU FOR THAT LONG...
(Incase you're reading this before reading the story: he goes to jail only because she goes after him in a messy way. I can't remember the name of the charge but it's pertaining his business.)

THEY WERE HIGH SCHOOL BESTIES???

I DON’T CARE IF MY PARTNER WAS HARRY STYLES. AIN’T NO WAY IN JUST A FEW HOURS OF SEEING YOU AGAIN WE’RE FUCKING?????

That definitely reminded me that this is a FICTIONAL story.

Like some of the reasonings behind Celeste’s actions just seemed very premature especially for someone that is in her mid twenties. And why did it take Lily's Dad so long to tell Celeste about her friend's issues? FIVE YEARS!!! Had her blind for FIVE YEARS!! Moving onnn.....

Zane is better than me because I could never be with a bitch that sent me to jail.

LIKE ACTUAL JAIL NOT THE METAPHOR ONE.

How Sierra didn't punch her in the face once she saw her years later is beyond me. Actually how Sierra didn’t use Silas to find Celeste’s location so she can punch her in the face for having her brother go to jail is super beyond me.

Other than that little hiccup, I pretty much liked the story. I completely get how Zane was very reasonable in thinking about how their relationship just couldn’t work with how badly she did him. On top of his insecurities that she gave him FROM not believing him.

I love a happy ending so I get why they ended up still being together at the end. But now my expectations on men are super high. HE TRAPPED THEM ON HIS ON ISLAND WITH THE STUFF FROM THEIR PAST… like what man irl can I find to do that? NONE THERE IS NONE!!

Anywho, I’m super excited for Lex’s Story!!!!

I’m so torn on this one! It started off so sweet. Almost too perfect. I was actually getting bored and thinking “oh my gosh I’m not even 40% through it!”  I almost DNF, but I really hate doing that.

I was shocked with the twist. Can honestly say I didn’t see that coming. My interest was peaked again. While I liked the ending and a more realistic story showing troubles and insecurities that needed to be worked on, I felt that it dragged a little long to get to that point.

Overall, good book. Just a bit of a roller coaster.

While these characters eventually made up, throughout the majority of the book it felt entirely hopeless. And while that was probably intentional, I still felt like they should’ve just called it. And this was one of those books that had no right to have that much spice, and not the good kind. It almost felt like they didn’t actually love each other as people.
