A solid dystopian novel. While I really enjoyed Darrow and Mustang as characters, a lot of the more minor characters didn’t feel fleshed out enough for me to truly care for them. But the story itself was great, if not a bit reminiscent of The Hunger Games, and I’m excited to finish the series.

A book I didn't really enjoy. None of the tropes were terribly appealing to me. But I will probably read at least the second one because I heard it gets better. It just isn't high on my TBR.

Reading this book is like being adrift on a workday commute and not knowing how you got to the current patch of road even though you were the one driving, and despite some dangerous drivers acting out around you, the thing that returned you to the present was a sassy pink car that you saw rolling up.

This book kinda had me think that I hated reading. Like maybe I don't like books. But I think in the end I realised I just hated Darrow and the book was okay.
